The Group Portfolio Manager (GPM) primary purpose is to ensure objectives related to internal portfolio management are met, in addition to overseeing the workflow of the Commercial Team of PMs and commercial lending Associates. The GPM will serve as the Group Head’s internal delegate and will provide approval within established guidelines for daily credit/portfolio administrative activity within Specialized Industries’ Security Industry Group. The Group Portfolio Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following activities. Set appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals’ roles support the achievement of the business unit’s priorities and CIBC’s overall goals Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training Manage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance and by explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities Create a positive work environment and be an effective role model by championing CIBC’s mission, vision and values Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect Hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals How You’ll Succeed

Use knowledge of cash management, credit, investment, and wealth protection to help clients meet their goals. You bring your real self to work and you live our values – trust, teamwork and accountability. You have a degree/diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in Commercial Banking. You have demonstrated experience in Underwriting/Credit approvals: work with RM, Market Lead and Group Head, advise on deal structure, risk and resources, manage workflow and maintain an accurate pipeline of opportunities in Salesforce, exercise credit approval authority (non-LPO) for certain credit products and processes up to approved limits, exercise non-credit approval authority (non-LPO) up to approved limits, maintain client contact as needed. You have demonstrated experience in Client Onboarding/Closing: managing workflow/pipeline and ensuring visibility to support teams and deal team efforts to optimize onboarding/closing experiences. You have demonstrated experience in Client Portfolio Maintenance: engaging with RMs, PMs and Associates to address issues, ensure timely execution of PM activities, oversee risk ratings and reviews, prepare for meetings and exams, and coordinate data collection efforts as needed. You have demonstrated experience in Leadership and Team Training: directly manages all Credit Analysts/Associates and PMs, sets objectives, conducts performance reviews, provides training on policies and procedures, and acts as liaison with Credit Risk and HPA. Compensation and Benefits

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $135,000 - $200,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
