The Site Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager will partner with the site operations team in the Dream Fulfillment Center (DFC) to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance with applicable local and regional regulations. By applying lean principles and kaizen methods, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk and create a safe and healthy working environment for associates. A successful Site Safety Manager will build trust with the Operations Team and drive change through comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis. The Site Safety Manager communicates clearly, instructs and trains Operations Leaders on RTR safety policies, and helps site teams incorporate safety and environmental standards. The role involves identifying best practices and integrating them into RTR standards to continuously improve the safety landscape. The Site Safety Manager should possess strong program knowledge in safety, environmental, and ergonomic areas and demonstrate this expertise when working with Operations. Responsibilities
Manage Safety and Environmental due diligence activities applicable in New Jersey including compliance with OSHA regulations, waste management, Community Right to Know Reporting, wastewater discharge management and reporting, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, noise studies, air permitting, wetlands/water permitting. Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through daily, weekly, and monthly audits. Lead incident investigation process. Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Safety Analysis) and new equipment introductions. Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to Management, including ergonomic considerations. Ensure compliance with RTR Safety Program expectations and applicable federal and state law. Maintain required paperwork to comply with RTRs standards. Facilitate access to immediate aid for associates, visitors, vendors, or guests that need assistance or medical attention. Deliver on-time and quality projects to operations. Maintain accurate daily, weekly and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams. Document safety incident information in RTRs OSHA 300 and 300a logs in a timely manner. Perform safety observations and audits. Train and assist the operations staff to comply with RTRs safety responsibilities. Perform specific safety training as required by the company. Conduct documented monthly facility inspections and document findings. Partner with the security team to ensure awareness of RTRs safety policies. Analyze safety metrics and review incident trends to allocate resources to areas with the highest risk. Ensure site leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy; audit the quality and effectiveness of all required safety training. Qualifications
3+ years experience in environmental due diligence and permitting programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations. Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment. Bachelors degree in environmental science, engineering, planning, or related field. Knowledge of Title V, air permitting and compliance and RCRA. Knowledge of OSHA regulations applicable in RTRs industry. Flexible regarding shifts as safety incidents can occur at any time. Strong written and verbal communication; bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Ability to enforce safety guidelines, cleanliness and security standards. Ability to quickly recognize, diagnose and solve challenges for associates in partnership with leadership. Sense of urgency and attention to detail; align with the company's core values. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required. Distribution Center or Manufacturing Safety experience at a site with at least 500 non-exempt employees is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including collaboration with site leaders. Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy. Proficient in Microsoft Office and data visualization (pivot tables, charts). Ability to manage multiple sites remotely. Benefits
