For over 50 years -- The Glenholme School, part of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, has provided a comprehensive residential program and services for children with learning differences and special needs. Located in picturesque Washington, CT the Teacher will be part of a cohesive, passionate and dynamic team. Responsibilities
Demonstrate a student-centered approach to instruction
Participation in a reflective professional development process
Meet the requirements of the IEP/Treatment Plan process by contributing to a data-based present level of student performance, accommodations, modifications, transitional elements, and other pertinent information based on the student’s needs
Integrate multi-modality instructional approaches in lesson planning and delivery to meet the diverse learning styles of students
Prioritize and promote a safe and secure environment for student learning through the use of social-emotional learning
Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, Occupational/Speech Therapists, Social Workers, Nursing, Behavior Specialists and school leaders regarding student and teacher supports
Implement PBIS campus approaches (5:1 praise to corrective feedback ratio, focusing on skill development) with a high level of fidelity
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required (Master's preferred)
Connecticut Teaching certificate or eligibility to obtain a teaching certificate
3 years of experience within the field of education preferred
Special education degree and experience preferred
