Lattice Simulation Software Engineer
role at
Anduril Industries . Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
We are looking for mid- and senior-level Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Engineers to join our team. As part of our team, you will develop cutting-edge simulation tools used by our engineering teams to model how our vehicles and systems perform in complex mission scenarios.
The ideal candidate has experience with aerospace systems and understands the appropriate fidelity of system-level modeling required to model large-scale, many-on-many missions. The role requires proficiency in vehicle/sub-system modeling and strong coding and software integration practices. If you have a passion for flight and enjoy building a physics-based digital representation of air vehicles and payloads, this is the role for you.
Responsibilities
Work on challenging problems in a fast-paced environment across our portfolio of programs and products.
Develop the Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) framework to support mission-level concept exploration, tactics development, autonomous behaviors, and Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) product development.
Develop simulation models for sensors, communications, movement, tactical behaviors, weapon effects, electronic effects, command and control, and others.
Partner with Operations Analysis team members to deliver simulation capabilities that enable efficient Monte Carlo and Design of Experiments analysis.
Partner with capability teams like Mission Autonomy to deliver simulation capabilities to help accelerate development.
Work with multi-disciplinary subject matter experts to understand and adequately model pertinent sub-system, system, and system-of-systems dynamics.
Required Qualifications
Senior Modeling Simulation Engineer: 8 or more years of experience in Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis engineering or related technical experience
Modeling Simulation Engineer: 3 or more years of experience in Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis engineering or related technical experience
Proficient with C++
Working experience with Python
Experience with aerospace/aeronautical systems (including fixed wing, rockets, satellites, rotorcraft, etc.) and/or subsea vehicles
Experience in flight dynamics/platform physics and control
Experience with high performance and multi-threaded programming
Demonstrated curiosity and ability to learn outside of core discipline
U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced proficiency with C++
Experience with Python
Experience with developing sub-system and system-level models (air vehicles, ground vehicles, ground-based sensors and other complex systems)
Experience working with/developing multi-system mission level simulations in one or more domains (subsurface, surface, ground, air, and space)
Experience in military simulation fields delivering configurable scenario-based environments for operations analysis and wargaming (e.g., AFSIM, NGTS)
Startup experience
