Overview
Our client, a major GovCon company in the Washington, D.C. Area, is seeking a high-level Accounting consultant at the Controller level, with strong Deltek Costpoint experience, to join their team. Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and project accounting. Manage month-end and year-end close, ensuring compliance with GAAP, FAR, and CAS. Lead preparation of financial statements, indirect rate calculations, and incurred cost submissions. Provide oversight of billing, revenue recognition, and contract compliance. Partner with executive leadership to support audits, forecasts, and strategic financial planning. Optimize Costpoint use and ensure accurate reporting across all modules. Mentor and support accounting staff during the engagement. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred. 8–12+ years of progressive GovCon accounting experience, including Controller or Assistant Controller roles. Expert knowledge of
Deltek Costpoint . Strong understanding of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA requirements. Demonstrated ability to manage accounting operations in a mid-to-large GovCon environment. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Seniority level
