Overview

The MEP/PEP/PEO Relationship Manager (RM) serves as the primary point of contact for adopting employers participating in Multiple Employer Plans (MEPs), Pooled Employer Plans (PEPs), and Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs). This role is responsible for delivering high-touch client service, managing onboarding and ongoing servicing of employer groups, and coordinating with internal departments to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, and an exceptional client experience. Key Responsibilities

Serve as the main liaison for a portfolio of adopting employers across MEP, PEP, and PEO platforms. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor on plan operations, compliance, and best practices. Conduct regular client check-ins, status calls, and review meetings to address needs and concerns. Manage end-to-end onboarding for new adopting employers, including plan document review, transfer of assets, and participant communication. Coordinate closely with internal teams (Compliance, Conversions, Payroll Integration, etc.) to ensure timely and accurate implementation. Ensure a seamless client experience during transition with consistent communication and project tracking. Monitor plan health, proactively identify issues, and coordinate with specialists to resolve operational or compliance concerns. Oversee annual tasks such as nondiscrimination testing, plan year-end processes, contribution allocations, and audit coordination. Support adopting employers in understanding plan provisions, fiduciary duties, and changes in regulatory requirements. Work cross-functionally with sales, legal, ERISA counsel, recordkeepers, and payroll providers. Assist with MEP/PEP/PEO plan development and refinement of internal workflows and service models. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and retirement plan innovations. Qualifications

Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred. 5-8 years of experience in qualified plan administration or client services in a retirement plan context. Prior experience with MEPs, PEPs, or PEO-related retirement plans highly preferred. In-depth knowledge of retirement plan compliance, ERISA, and IRS/DOL regulations. Strong client service and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent project management and organizational abilities. Proficiency in retirement plan recordkeeping platforms and CRM tools. ASPPA, NIPA, or CEBS designation is a plus.
