Senior Procurement Category Manager – Software. Lead the end-to-end software sourcing strategy, including strategic planning, market analysis, contract negotiation and supplier relationship management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders to align software procurement with business objectives. What You\'ll Do
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management: Develop and execute software sourcing strategies (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, emerging technologies), including market and spend analysis and identification of cost optimization opportunities. RFx Management: Lead and execute complex RFPs, RFQs and other formal sourcing methodologies. Contract Negotiation & Management: Negotiate favorable terms, mitigate risk, lead contract renewals, and manage supplier performance against defined service levels. Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and conduct regular performance reviews. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders across business units and present to senior leadership (Director/VP level). Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to maximize value from software spend. Financial Acumen: Demonstrate track record of achieving significant cost reductions and delivering tangible financial benefits. What You\'ll Bring
Bachelor\'s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field (preferred). Experience in strategic sourcing and category management with a focus on software (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and related services. Ability to manage complex, high-value sourcing projects and RFx processes. Strong negotiation skills in commercial and contractual matters. Analytical skills including spend analysis and market research. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels. Experience managing relationships with senior leadership. Proficiency with procurement tools and technologies. Bonus Points
CPSM CPM PMP Experience in IT or professional services such as solution architecture, network design, or systems integration. Location
Greater Chicago or Greater Boston Area; in-office 3 days per week. Salary
