Overview
Regional Chief Development Officer (Washington, DC) – American Red Cross, National Capital and Greater Chesapeake Region. The role leads the region's fundraising efforts and serves as a senior fundraising executive reporting in partnership with the Regional Executive to drive revenue, donor engagement, and mission impact. Responsibilities
Inspire and grow a culture of philanthropy that fuels the Red Cross mission across the National Capital & Greater Chesapeake Region. Lead efforts to strengthen and expand our donor base, cultivating relationships with the region’s most generous and engaged supporters. Partner closely with the Regional Executive to drive a revenue-oriented culture based on bold, market-driven goals. Serve as a visible ambassador of the Red Cross in the community, representing our mission with donors, civic leaders, and partners. Lead and mentor a high-performing team, ensuring excellence through coaching, development, and accountability. Collaborate with volunteer leaders and board members to plan and implement innovative fundraising strategies. Note: Salary range for this position (Washington, DC): $163,000 - $173,000 plus incentive. Salaries are aligned to the geographic location where work is primarily performed; actual salary may vary based on skills, experience, and internal comparisons. What You Need To Know
