Staff Software Engineer

Spirent is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our ATA business unit, with primary operations in Littleton, MA, Santa Clara, CA and Frederick, MD. The ideal candidate will be a highly talented professional who enjoys collaborating with other engineers and product owners following the Agile/SCRUM development process. The position includes designing, implementing, and verifying new features in our OctoBox software suite and wireless testbed solutions. Test suite products focus on performance and compliance testing of various WiFi and 5G technologies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred 8+ years’ experience in software development Python, Java, or similar language. Previous experience as a team lead or product architect a plus. Experience understanding and validating network protocols and standards, including experience with one or more of: Wi-Fi, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and 4G/5G. Experience with virtual environments (e.g., virtual machines and containers). Experience in interpreting customer and business requirements and use cases, and in translating requirements into design. Experience with REST principles and APIs. Commanding knowledge of OOD/OOP, Agile/SCRUM, and test-driven development processes. Strong communication skills including technical and conversational speaking, writing and presentation skills. Strong problem-solving skills and team-oriented approach. Motivated self-starter who likes challenging work. Annualized Salary Wage Range: $176,000 - $224,000 Spirent applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience at or in line with the minimum requirements.
