Up to $80/hr My client, a Global Technology Business, are looking for an experienced
Palo Alto Firewall Engineer
to join on a 6-month engagement. This role requires a strong mix of firewall expertise and networking skills — someone who can design and configure firewall ACLs, set up routing interfaces, and ensure seamless connectivity across adjacent switches. What You’ll Do
Design, deploy, and manage Palo Alto firewalls (physical & virtual) across multiple environments. Configure and optimize security policies, NAT rules, and VPNs (site-to-site & remote). Monitor logs, investigate incidents, and work with SOC teams to mitigate threats. Perform upgrades, patching, and implement advanced features (App-ID, User-ID, Content-ID, WildFire, GlobalProtect). Partner with IT, DevOps, and InfoSec teams on architecture, segmentation, and access control. Maintain thorough documentation of configurations, processes, and security standards. Support compliance efforts (ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, NIST) and provide Level 2/3 support. What We’re Looking For
Required: Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls (PA-Series & VM-Series). Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, NAT, VPN, VLANs). Experience with Panorama for centralized management. Familiarity with threat detection, zero-trust concepts, and security best practices. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills. Preferred: Palo Alto certifications (PCNSE, PCNSA). Cloud firewall experience (AWS, Azure, GCP). Scripting/automation (Python, Ansible). Exposure to SIEM and endpoint protection tools. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years working with enterprise-level firewall and network security infrastructure. Details
