Gas Turbine Fleet Engineering Manager - Astoria, NY (NYC) Alpha Generation manages and operates power generation facilities that are positioned to provide reliable, secure, safe, and sustainable power. The company is backed by ArcLight Capital Partners and oversees a large domestic independent power portfolio with substantial annual revenue. The role reports to the Director of Engineering and Special Projects and is part of a dynamic team addressing fleet-wide engineering challenges in a fast-paced environment. Role and Responsibilities

Support day-to-day, mid-term, and long-term operational activities, planned major maintenance outages, forced outages, new projects and programs as required for gas turbine-generator operations as subject matter expert Promote safety by ensuring overall safe equipment condition and operation through enforcement of industry and company standards, policies and procedures Assist in negotiation and administration/management of all long term service agreement programs within the portfolio Some commercial background in this area is preferred including experience negotiating and managing contracts Make technical decisions within area of competence regarding acceptance of fit-for-purpose equipment, materials or components that are not in accordance with original intent due to wear, defects, or installation issues; identify operating or maintenance restrictions or remediation needed to maintain acceptable risk Work closely with plant personnel at various sites to investigate and conduct root cause analysis of gas turbine-generators and associated systems; identify options for mitigation or elimination of deficiencies Coach and/or lead repairs and inspections during routine, forced and/or scheduled outages Project execution including meeting company objectives for safety, quality, budget, and schedule Maintain relationships with contractors and vendors and stay informed of market and technological advancements Support construction and equipment testing and commissioning Represent the Company positively and professionally Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university with 5+ years of experience in the power industry; M.S. degree beneficial Familiarity with failure modes of typical power plant prime movers, generators, materials, systems and components Understanding of plant design, construction, operations, maintenance, testing or analysis in utility, oil & gas, or marine propulsion, with expertise in OEM gas turbines and generators Knowledge of gas turbine disassembly/assembly, alignments, balancing, etc. as part of major maintenance Working knowledge of gas turbine major components and repair requirements for various OEMs Knowledge of codes and standards such as ASME, ASTM, ANSI, IEEE, ASCE, OSHA Previous field experience as TFA, FE, startup and commissioning tech; 7+ years desired; experience in geographically diverse North American regions desirable Previous managerial experience of at least 2+ years Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders Self-motivated with minimal supervision, able to multi-task and manage multiple assignments under time constraints Exceptional project and process management skills; team player; strong written and oral communication skills; strong organizational skills High level of computer and internet competency; proficiency with Windows-based software programs Travel up to 30% of the time Seniority level
