Clinical Social Worker (Spanish Speaking) – Full Time Job Code: 85966BR Department: UCSF—Division of Clinical Social Work Position type: Full Time, 100% time Job Summary
The incumbent will be assigned to the Citywide Case Management CASC Team in partnership with the San Francisco Adult Probation Department (SFAPD). The caseload will include 15–17 individuals identified by SFAPD as needing mental health services. Clients will be re-entering the community after substantial and/or repeated periods of incarceration. Services include comprehensive assessment, crisis intervention, case management, individual and group therapy, and substance abuse services. Services are provided at SFAPD’s Community Assessment and Service Center (CASC) at 564 6th Street, San Francisco 94103. The clinician will assist clients in meeting their needs and make referrals as appropriate. The collaboration aims to treat high-risk clients, promote safe and sustained re-entry into the community, and reduce recidivism into the criminal justice system. The final salary and offer components are subject to UC policy. Placement within the salary range depends on work experience and internal equity. For union-represented positions, placement follows the collective bargaining agreement. CSW I range: $44.94 – $51.82 (hourly); CSW II range: $47.41 – $69.06 (hourly). The Bilingual Clinical Case Manager will be assigned to the Citywide Case Management CASC Team in partnership with SFAPD. Monolingual Spanish-speaking clients will be prioritized. The incumbent will provide comprehensive assessment, crisis intervention, case management, individual and group therapy, and substance abuse services. Clients will receive services at SFAPD’s CASC. The goal of CWCM and SFAPD’s collaboration is to treat high-risk clients, promote safe and sustained re-entry into the community, and reduce recidivism into the criminal justice system. Required Qualifications
CSW I: Master’s degree in social work, psychology or related field from an accredited university and eligibility for licensure as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences; demonstrated knowledge and abilities for the duties of the position. CSW II: All of the above plus eligibility to sit for the BBS licensing exam. Must be able to provide mental health services in Spanish. Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with others; ability to work in a high-stress, high-volume environment and meet deadlines; ability to follow oral and written instructions; detail-oriented; produce written summaries of activities; set priorities and complete reports within required timeframes; knowledge of medical and/or psychiatric terminology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work as a team member in a culturally diverse setting. Able to lift 50 lbs and climb stairs. Demonstrated excellent attendance and reliability. Understanding of mental health issues and sensitivity toward mental health clients. Ability to work with clients and program staff from diverse cultural and social backgrounds. Ability to obtain San Francisco County Jail Clearance through the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with severely mentally ill adults, the homeless, and dual-diagnosed populations. Experience doing community-based case management and outreach, including to SRO hotels. Experience working with individuals actively involved in the criminal justice system. Prior related UCSF experience. Ability to provide mental health services in Spanish (listed as preferred). License/Certification
Registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an ASW, LCSW, AMFT, LMFT, APCC, or LPCC. Recent graduates must obtain registration within 90 days of hire. About UCSF
