Kirkland & Ellis What You’ll Do Awards & Directories Support – Prepare and manage submissions for Chambers USA, The Legal 500 United States, The American Lawyer, Law360, the Financial Times, and other key publications. Collaboration with Attorneys & Team – Partner with attorneys and work closely with the PR – Recognition & Awards team to gather references, experience, and key statistics; schedule interviews; and ensure timely submissions. Content Creation – Draft accolades, update attorney biographies, and ensure submissions align with Kirkland’s house style and professional voice. Tracking & Reporting – Lead ongoing tracking and monthly/annual reporting of directory and award submissions to measure impact and improve processes. Administrative Support – Manage invoices, upload materials to internal systems, and coordinate with publishers on onboarding of new and lateral partners. Process Improvement – Create and refine organizational tools to streamline submissions and reporting. Team Contribution – Assist with additional marketing communications initiatives, including writing, editing, and proofreading, as needed. What You’ll Bring Education – Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, or public relations (or equivalent). Experience – 2+ years in communications or marketing, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment. Writing Expertise – Strong command of Associated Press (AP) Style, grammar, and journalistic writing principles, with the ability to adapt tone for persuasive communications. Technical Skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems preferred. Organization & Project Management – Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple deadlines with accuracy, attention to detail, and professionalism. Communication Skills – Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with attorneys, staff, and external contacts. Mindset & Approach – Client-service orientation, flexibility to adapt to shifting demands, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. Teamwork – Comfort working collaboratively across offices while maintaining a sense of independence and sound judgment. Compensation The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position in Chicago. This range may differ based on your geographic location and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary.
