Principal Systems Engineer - Military Avionics FMS Program Lead (Onsite) at Collins Aerospace. Location: Cedar Rapids, IA (HIA32: 400 Collins Rd NE, Cedar Rapids, IA, 52498-0505 USA). Onsite role with AGILE environment focused on Flight Management Software Applications for the Special Operations Aircraft (SOA) and UH-60M programs in the Military Avionics Flight Management Applications department. What You Will Do

Serve as both a Systems and Project Engineer (subsystems team lead) representing the flight management and controls department. Demonstrate time management skills; work unsupervised, multi-task, and coordinate work. Manage scope, schedule, cost, and quality for a large, high-visibility program. Provide daily support of cross-functional teams executing development work. Organize, document, and communicate program resources, processes, and updates to teams. Coordinate with the program team and other subsystem teams to identify and collaborate on dependencies. Actively manage risks and opportunities; identify concerns, cost/schedule impacts, and implement mitigation strategies. Lead bidding and estimating efforts, including technical scope breakdown, resource identification, SME engagement, aggregation of estimates, risk/opportunity management, and presenting for approvals; finalize bids in BidMaster Web (BMW). Decompose platform designs/requirements into executable subsystem designs. Perform initial software issue investigation to identify replication scenarios and operational impact; demonstrate issue replication to development teams and track resolutions or feature completion. Perform subsystem verification to ensure product performance before delivery to the platform team. Lead technical and operational discussions with the program team and external customers. Onboard and train new engineers on cognizant program(s). Note: This position may require extended working hours beyond a typical 7:30 am4:30 pm schedule or beyond 40 hours per week. Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with minimum 5 years of experience. Willingness to travel (domestic and international). Strong technical skills in systems development. Avionics experience (development or usage). Software development and testing experience. Qualifications We Prefer

AGILE development experience. Excellent proactive communication (written, verbal, interpersonal). Earned value management experience. Project schedule creation and management. ARP4754 and DO-178 (or similar) certification-based development experience. JIRA experience. What We Offer
