Senior QA Automation Engineer
Coders Connect are partnering with a leading global enterprise headquartered in Downtown Los Angeles. With a strong focus on technology and digital transformation, this organization is investing heavily in modernizing its engineering and automation practices to support mission-critical platforms used worldwide. They're hiring a Senior QA Automation Engineer to be the first dedicated automation hire. This is a high-impact role where you'll establish frameworks, mentor manual testers, and drive automation strategy across enterprise-scale systems. The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week onsite in Downtown Los Angeles. What You'll Be Doing
Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks (with a strong focus on Python and Playwright). Drive the automation strategy end-to-end, ensuring scalable and reliable test coverage. Mentor and support manual testers transitioning into automation. Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps to embed quality in every stage of delivery. Own automation initiatives across web applications, APIs, and enterprise systems. Requirements
5+ years of hands-on QA automation experience (not manual) Strong programming skills with Python (must-have) Experience with Playwright (preferred), or Selenium/Cypress if very strong in other areas Background in testing web applications, APIs, and enterprise-scale systems Familiarity with Azure DevOps and TestRail (nice-to-have) Strategic mindset with the ability to operate independently as the first automation hire Bonus: experience testing AI/ML systems Ideal For: Automation engineers who thrive in high-ownership roles, love building frameworks from the ground up, and want to shape the future of QA strategy in a global enterprise.
