Reliability Engineer role at L3Harris Technologies. The position focuses on DMSMS (Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Materials Shortages) systems engineering to analyze, manage, and mitigate the impact of obsolete components, ensuring continuity of supply and system performance. Responsibilities

Develops and executes Obsolescence Management or DMSMS program plans and procedures according to best practices per SD-22. Manages DMS requirements throughout all phases of a systems lifecycle (design, production, operations and sustainment). Researches and analyzes technology trends for obsolescence risk; reports actionable insights and lifecycle sustainment recommendations to engineering and program management. Evaluates Fit, Form & Function (FFF) substitutes or design changes when a part is obsolete. Collaborates with Risk Management to issue or support risks based on DMS data and trends. Performs obsolescence/DMS analysis on new designs and engineering changes (e.g., Design for Supportability/Design for Sustainment). Supports parts and component selection (e.g., Component Engineering) for product design with design engineers. Supports proactive Software Obsolescence analysis and tracking. Manages obsolescence of COTS components including Last Time Buy (LTB) and End of Life (EOL) information with recommendations for replacement decisions. Liaises with OEMs and develops corrective actions for obsolescence issues. Works with Supply Chain/Procurement to support obsolescence issues and develop a Supply Chain Risk Management approach. Works with Quality to identify and mitigate counterfeit components via GIDEP alerts and their impact on DMSMS. Initiates and champions Engineering Change Requests to implement DMSMS mitigation solutions. Maintains a case management database to ensure timely action, status, and metrics. Collaborates with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) / Integrated Product Support (IPS) to manage sustainment stock of obsolete items. Creates professional, data-driven presentations for briefing technical decisions or recommendations to internal stakeholders and external vendors/customers. Collaborates with Reliability Engineering to support the full Specialty Engineering Team. Essential Functions

Proficient use of desktop software applications (MS Office Tools) and related software. Effective in a virtual environment using tools such as MS Teams. Advanced Excel skills (data structures, pivot tables, data manipulation, transformation, visualization) are highly preferred. Experience with data tools such as IHS BOM Intelligence, SiliconExpert, AVCOM, Z2 Data, Interos Resilience Platform, GIDEP is a plus. Technical understanding of electronic components / computer hardware concepts is a plus. Experience in software obsolescence is a plus. Proactive mindset with ability to anticipate DMSMS challenges and develop mitigation strategies from a technology trends perspective. Experience with Business Development contributing to Bids and Proposals and creating Basis of Estimates (BOEs) is a plus. Requires proficient knowledge of the job area; may have practical project management knowledge. Qualifications

Bachelors Degree with minimum 4 years of related experience; Graduate Degree with minimum 2 years of related experience; or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of related experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary integrated product team (IPT). Willingness to relocate to the Tulsa, OK area. Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance. Essential physical requirements will be discussed during interview. Preferred Additional Skills

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field. Knowledge and experience in the Aerospace/Defense sector. Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, milestones, funding, and proposals. Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) / Integrated Product Support (IPS) experience. Knowledge of databases and data mining/big data analytics/predictive analytics. Knowledge of documents such as SD-22, SD-19, IEC 62402, SD-26, DoDI 4245.15, MIL-STD-91190. Knowledge of Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) methods, tools, and standards. Experience working under AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management System. IIOM (International Institute of Obsolescence Management) certification or equivalent. Employment type
