Overview
Direct Counsel, LLC
is seeking an
Environmental Litigation Associate
on behalf of a
leading law firm
to join its
environmental and regulatory litigation team . This role is ideal for an attorney with experience in
federal environmental litigation , particularly
civil enforcement matters , who thrives in high-stakes regulatory environments and can work independently while engaging directly with clients.
Responsibilities
Represent clients in complex
civil environmental litigation
matters, primarily at the
federal level .
Analyze and interpret technical
regulatory frameworks , including federal environmental laws and related administrative schemes.
Draft legal briefs, memoranda, and motions with minimal supervision.
Engage directly with clients and stakeholders, offering strategic legal counsel.
Collaborate with cross-functional legal teams on matters involving
enforcement defense
and regulatory compliance.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience with
federal environmental enforcement , preferably
government-side , or in private practice handling
civil enforcement matters .
Familiarity with
EPA ,
DOJ , or other federal agency enforcement processes.
Strong grounding in
environmental law
and
administrative law
concepts.
Ability to assess complex regulatory and factual records quickly and accurately.
Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school
Law school class years
2018–2022
Admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Strong academic background
Excellent
research, writing, and analytical skills
Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and deliver high-quality work under pressure
Compensation
Base Salary Range:
$260,000 – $420,000
(Contingent upon experience and qualifications)
Bonuses:
Performance-based, discretionary
