Overview
Cadrex is searching for a Global Commodity Manager (Indirect) who will be responsible for developing and executing global sourcing strategies for the MRO, facilities and professional services categories. This Global Commodity Manager (Indirect) will drive supplier cost savings, quality improvements, risk mitigation, and supplier innovation. The role reports to the Director of Indirect Sourcing and supports Cadrex manufacturing operations worldwide by establishing strong supplier relationships, managing global spending, and aligning sourcing strategies with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute long term indirect global commodity strategies that support corporate goals related to cost, quality, delivery, innovation, and risk
Lead indirect sourcing processes, strategic supplier identification, evaluation, and negotiate to establish competitive contracts and beneficial supplier agreements
Manage global indirect supplier base, ensuring performance through KPIs/metrics, scorecards, and regular supplier business reviews
Monthly indirect project score card and annual strategic plan reporting
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Finance, to align sourcing activities with product and operational requirements
Conduct market analysis, benchmarking, and should-cost analysis to identify sourcing opportunities and drive strategic decisions
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply base, including cost reduction, lead-time optimization, and quality enhancement
Develop and maintain commodity roadmaps, cost models, and sourcing playbooks
Mitigate risks in the supply chain through dual-sourcing strategies (where needed), supplier development, and contingency planning
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, ethical sourcing standards, and regulatory requirements
Provide leadership and mentorship to purchasing teams or regional commodity specialists, where applicable
Special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
7+ years of strategic sourcing or commodity management experience in a global manufacturing environment preferred
Strong knowledge of commodity categories MRO, facilities, professional services, and capital equipment
Proven ability to lead complex global negotiations and manage supplier relationships
Experience with ERP systems and sourcing platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa)
Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills
Ability to travel within North America as needed
Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or CSCP are a plus
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field required
Location
Remote (Travel up to 40% within North America)
