We seek a senior Director (potential Managing Director) to lead our US Index Option business within the Equity Derivatives Trading team. The candidate should have over 5 years of sell side experience managing a US index option book, with a proven record of success. Candidates will have demonstrated leadership/management capabilities and be driven by the opportunity to build a business. Reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Flow Derivatives, this role provides the opportunity for a growth focused individual to join an experienced team of derivative professionals and have key responsibility to shape a growing Index Options business. Key Responsibilities
Lead and expand the US Index Options business, maximizing client penetration and returns. Manage a trading book, responsible for risk, P&L, and limits. Stay informed on market trends to provide comprehensive client service and develop new solutions. Recommend business priorities and develop strategic execution roadmaps. Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, anticipating needs and providing strategic solutions. Manage and mentor a growing team. Execute cross-selling strategies to grow client share and increase revenue. Collaborate with sales, trading and research teams across the platform for seamless client service. Foster relationships across businesses and with senior leaders and clients to support coordination. Manage risk related to pricing, sales, and trading, balancing the Bank's risk appetite with client needs. Qualifications
7+ years of relevant experience, with a degree in Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent education/experience; CFA preferred. Expert knowledge of equity derivatives, derivative products, volatility surfaces, trading procedures, regulatory requirements, pricing, and hedging strategies. Required licenses: Series 7, 63, and 55. Need for Series 4 and 24 in the near term. Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage ambiguity and make data-driven decisions. Expertise in building and leveraging relationships for business growth. Proven leadership capabilities and desire to manage and mentor others. Compensation
Base Salary: Director - $275,000 USD; Managing Director - $375,000 USD. Salary type: Salaried. The salary above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. For commission roles, the salary listed represents the expected target for the first year. BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and other perks.
