ABOUT THE IMPACT TEAM We help clients achieve impact across some of the most high-profile issues of our time, whether it’s partnering with major philanthropies, national and local advocacy organizations, corporations and nonprofits. From local to global campaigns, we help our clients advocate successfully across a broad range of social impact causes. We approach every engagement with the goal of “winning the day” for our clients, bringing cross-platform solutions to advance our clients’ goals. Whether it’s executing powerful media relations strategies, launching digital thought leadership programs or developing creative campaigns to advance a specific policy issue—our team serves as trusted advisors to solve our nation’s most pressing challenges.
ABOUT THIS ROLE BerlinRosen is seeking an Account Director to join our Impact Team to lead strategy and wins for account teams combating antisemitism, advancing key advocacy efforts within the Jewish community, promoting interfaith dialogue and fostering Jewish cultural and educational initiatives, as well as areas including, but not limited to, reproductive rights, impact investing, labor, and environmental justice. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a difference with impactful communications campaigns and mission-driven work.
Role location:
This role is based in our New York, N.Y. or Washington, D.C. office on a hybrid basis. The Impact team is in-office at least 3 days per week.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS As an Account Director on our Impact team, you will…
Lead strategic conversations and advance the communications strategy for multiple high-profile client accounts to deliver top-notch results for our clients Develop and oversee integrated campaigns that leverage public affairs, media and digital tactics to reach key audiences and achieve client goals Directly manage and mentor staff, and provide overall strategic direction and feedback for their development and client work Collaborate closely with the Impact management team to develop and inspire our team of strategists to be innovative and creative
Essential skills:
Has 6+ years of relevant work experience in campaign politics, strategic communications, media relations, advocacy, journalism, or a related field Is an avid consumer of news, with a strong news sense and knowledge of the media, and experience engaging and maintaining strong relationships with key reporters covering the top issues of the day, from labor and economic justice, racial and gender equity to immigrant rights, healthcare, climate and more Strong written and oral communications skills Ability to multi-task easily, including handling multiple assignments at once, working quickly and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment while paying close attention to details Has a personal commitment to and knowledge of social justice Understands organizing and advocacy communications, including social media campaigning, writing for the web (website copy, social media posts, articles etc.), local, state, or national politics, and how to engage with members of the media for both rapid response and long lead stories Enjoys managing people and has experience in successfully motivating, leading and mentoring a diverse team to meet objectives
WORKING AT BERLINROSEN Salary range
(commensurate with experience and skills): $110,000-$130,000
Account Directors are eligible for end of year bonuses based on firm, team and individual performance.
