Web Designer The web designer is responsible for designing and producing websites that support and enhance the overall mission and image of Biola University. Working closely with a team of developers, designers and content managers, this individual plays a significant role in making Biola's website appealing, accessible and effective. Responsibilities

Conceptualize, design and produce websites, landing pages, email templates and other digital communications in support of the university and its schools, departments, degree programs, centers, blogs and events. Create new pages and make updates to the design of existing pages, working with an existing content management system. Create illustrations, icons and other graphic elements for the website. Ensure that Biola's websites are intuitive, user-friendly, aesthetically excellent, thematically appropriate, technically efficient and optimized for a variety of web browsers and devices. Ensure that visual branding is consistent with university standards. Keep current with web design trends, production techniques and software enhancements. Communicate with clients including departments across campus in order to best understand and serve their online marketing needs. Qualifications

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in graphic design or marketing. Work Requirements: Non-exempt (02), full time 40 hours / week, 12 months per year. The position is fully remote with options to be in person, hybrid, or fully remote. Required Skills / Qualifications: Current relevant experience in web design, including translating wireframes and design mockups and turning them into HTML / CSS. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (primarily Photoshop and Illustrator). Knowledge of responsive web design. Knowledge of Javascript (a plus). Knowledge of web accessibility standards and practices (WCAG 2.2 AA, WAI-ARIA, etc.). Strong understanding of usability, user experience and user interface design. Strong design sensibilities; firm understanding of what is good design and bad design. Enthusiasm in learning about design and front-end development. Visual, organizational and conceptual problem-solving skills. Ability to handle multiple projects and work both individually and as part of a team. Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to actively listen, understand desired needs and outcomes, and translate into appropriate solutions. Excellent time management skills, including the ability to write quality, standards-compliant, readable code in a timely manner. Portfolio: Applicants must submit an online or offline portfolio. Hiring Range: $32.45 - 34.85 per hour.
