Overview

ZGF is seeking a dynamic and well-rounded Mid-Level Architectural Designer to join our team in our Washington, D.C. office. Our team thrives on multi-disciplinary engagement while practicing at the intersection of architecture, interior design, and planning and urban design. We are looking for thoughtful individuals with excellent communication, design, and technical skills. The ideal candidate will have between 8-15 years of professional experience and will bring creativity, curiosity, and design excellence to every project. Responsibilities

Bring a proven track record of success with complex, multi-phase projects in a fast-paced environment Have a holistic approach to architecture which incorporates design, management, and technical resolution Collaborate closely with design leadership to assist in developing design and technical solutions for projects in all phases from concepts through construction Perform architectural design assignments with general direction and work independently as well as collaboratively with others toward design solutions Contribute to the production of design drawings, presentation graphics, visualizations, digital and physical models for the successful communication of design goals Research products, materials, building systems, and existing projects to inform the development of design and documentation Facilitate the integration of architecture and sustainable design in partnership with ZGF’s Project Performance Team Encourage design and construction partners to incorporate sustainable best practices into a holistic design tuned to a project’s unique community, client, and climate Assist in the project’s narrative for meeting building performance goals, including metrics, verification, and design integration Contribute to the effective performance of the project team regarding project quality, schedule, and budget Contribute to general office-wide initiatives, business development activities, and marketing pursuits Demonstrate motivation in seeking new responsibilities and challenges Participate in stakeholder meetings and help build and maintain relationships with clients and consultants Supervise and mentor junior and intermediate staff Qualifications

Highly motivated, proactive, and passionate Well-organized and detail-oriented Excellent team communication, design presentation, and storytelling skills Experience in successfully mentoring staff and leading design teams Experience with complex multi-phased higher education, healthcare, athletic, civic and / or commercial development projects is desired Experience with energy modeling or daylighting tools is desired Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Rhino, Sketch-Up, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite Professional architecture degree and a minimum of 8 to 15years of related experience Architectural licensure is strongly preferred Base Salary Range 86.000 / yr - $118.000 / yr Benefits
