Overview
Meta Reality Labs, the AR/VR business unit at Meta, is seeking an experienced, highly quantitative Demand Planner to focus on hardware demand forecasting and strategic planning. This role requires cross-functional coordination with Sales Account Managers, Retailers, Channel Inventory Operations, Marketing, Data Science, and Business Development. You will combine strategic planning and decision making with data analytics and insights, and you should be excited about AR/VR and consumer hardware. A strong interest in data and technology, high analytical capability, and the ability to communicate highly complex topics clearly to a broad audience are essential. The role will challenge you to impact multiple facets of hardware business strategy including sales planning, financial forecasting, strategic pricing, trade marketing, sales, and supply chain analytics. This is a fully remote position in the PST time zone with potential to move to full-time employment based on opportunities observed in the group. Responsibilities
Partner with sales account managers, category managers, data analysts, and business unit marketing teams to drive accurate demand planning and identify growth initiatives based on robust forecast models. Build bottoms-up sell-through and sell-in forecasts utilizing multiple quantitative and qualitative datasets; present cycle-by-cycle results to business leaders across Meta Reality Labs. Forecast and track weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales performance of hero and accessories hardware products in AR/VR. Own actuals vs forecast and goal performance analysis; drive identification of root causes and plan mitigation measures for gaps in performance. Share forecast assumptions and impact of strategic activities to forecast outcomes with the broader organization and various stakeholders. Drive implementation of tools and techniques for continuous forecast accuracy improvement by analyzing large datasets, identifying trends, dependencies, correlations, and creating future outlooks. Partner with Channel Operations teams to influence production and launch decisions. Present outcomes at reviews with business leaders across Meta Reality Labs. Minimum Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in business-related or quantitative field (Economics, Finance, Math, Engineering, or similar) 2 years of experience with hardware products including accessories demand forecasting 6 years of experience in business strategy, finance analytics, or sales planning; proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite Experience with forecasting tools (e.g., Anaplan, Algo, e2open, Logility) Experience with problem solving individually and in a group setting; knowledge of financial drivers of the business Experience with statistical forecasting methods and forecast accuracy metrics Preferred Qualifications
Experience with advanced Excel Ability to shift priorities while maintaining organization and control Experience in strategic planning in tech, investment banking, or strategy consulting with a technology focus Experience with S&OP and CPFR processes Experience communicating insights from data with clarity and impact Experience with SQL/Tableau/Power BI/visualization tools Experience in consumer electronics businesses Education
B.S. or M.S. in business-related or quantitative field (Economics, Finance, Math, Engineering, or similar) Master’s in business or supply chain operations is a nice-to-have Experience Level
Intermediate Level Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
