Overview

A Senior Engineer is an individual who operates independently without direct supervision and is responsible for leading the delivery of an engagement with the goal of delivering value for Optiv + ClearShark’s customers. The role requires maintaining a mastery in a capability aligned with Optiv + ClearShark’s service practices and developing pathways toward future opportunities. The Senior Engineer will execute all tasks in the statement of work, lead a team of Associate, Level I, and Level II Engineers in day-to-day operations and career development, and assist engineers with tasking. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential, as these individuals will interact with clients and engineers in a leadership capacity.

How you\'ll make an impact Maintain a master’s understanding of the chief technologies they will be responsible for.

Have an advanced understanding of major technologies surrounding the chief technology in their environment.

Lead a team of engineers in developing workflows to tackle complex issues and mentor Associate, Level I, and Level II Engineers as needed.

Spend 5% of time developing corporate strategy, assisting with brand identity, and supporting operations.

Spend 5% of time on training and skill refinement.

Spend 10% of time managing day-to-day operations of team members and their career development.

Spend 80% of time on engagement delivery.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Engagement Delivery

Execute all tasks outlined in the scope of work and follow standard operating procedures with no direct oversight.

Lead discussions with clients to analyze and understand their needs and objectives.

Aid Associate, Level I, and Level II Engineers on sophisticated tasking.

Lead technical discussions with the client to understand their engineering requirements.

Lead the technical support strategy for clients during and after project implementation.

Serve as the escalation level for complex issues as necessary.

Document project progress, issues, and resolutions concisely and timely.

Continuously self-review work to identify improvements for high-quality deliverables.

Review the work of Associate, Level I, and Level II Engineers to assist in delivering high-quality work.

Engagement Management Monitor and approve timecards and expense reports for team members.

Provide mentorship for Associate, Level I, and Level II Engineers.

Perform annual performance reviews for each team member, with quarterly feedback sessions.

Report issues or kudos/feedback to senior leadership as appropriate.

Sales and Client Engagement Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction.

Adhere to availability standards for responding to client inquiries.

Lead the communication of technical concepts to clients.

Identify and communicate cross-sell and up-sell opportunities with the account team across services.

Talent Development Proactively pursue certifications and cultivate technical proficiency according to industry standards.

Provide input to leadership on needed training and development.

Engage with mentors for guidance as necessary.

Provide training opportunities to team members in growth areas.

Strategy, Brand Leadership, and Operations Contribute to thought leadership about Optiv + ClearShark’s services portfolio (e.g., blog posts, social media, workshops, panels).

Oversee the creation of new Standard Operating Procedures.

Provide senior leadership with opportunities to expand the Optiv + ClearShark services portfolio.

What we\'re looking for Currently holds a TS/SCI with a CI Polygraph.

Experience operating in classified environments.

Bachelor’s degree in a related area or at least 8 years of related work experience.

Ping Identity Certified Professional/Expert for PingFederate, PingAccess, PingDirectory, PingOne.

Strong understanding of governance and compliance.

Strong understanding of leadership concepts and ideas.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Experience leading an engineering team with tasking, resolving personnel issues, and providing actionable feedback.

Ability to clearly communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences.

Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

Willingness to travel to meet client needs.

Open to government workers and/or government experience.

Salary Range

$150,300.00 - $206,000.00 Annual

The hiring range is informed by factors including responsibilities, work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, geography, and other market influences when extending an offer. The disclosed range has not been adjusted for these factors. This role may be eligible for a variable incentive-based bonus plan. Optiv offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, of which salary is a component.
