Overview
Mindbank Consulting Group has an immediate need for a
Senior Data Modeler
to support a federal client in advancing species management and conservation initiatives. This is a 100% onsite role from day one; no exceptions can be made. Preferred location is Falls Church, VA; consideration will be given to those who prefer Fort Collins, CO. Salary range is $120,000 - $125,000 per year and is based on professional experience and skills. Responsibilities
Design and maintain enterprise data models. Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and analysts on a legacy system migrated to the cloud. Utilize data modeling principles across conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Translate and map relational data models into XML and Schemas. Leverage data analysis and modeling tools (e.g., Power Designer, ERWin, ER/Studio). Support data representation and insights using Business Intelligence tools and Microsoft Office suite. Adapt modeling methods from case studies or proven approaches; quickly learn new techniques. Possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team. Qualifications
At least six years of professional, recent data modeling experience. Expertise in data modeling principles/methods (conceptual, logical, physical). Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical ideas to varied audiences. SQL and/or PL/SQL expertise. Experience with RDBMS platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Netezza, Teradata, DB2/UDB). Experience with dimensionally modeled data; experience translating models to XML/Schemas. Experience with data modeling tools (Power Designer, ERWin, ER/Studio). Knowledge of statistical inference and forecasting methods (time series, multivariate, clustering, optimization). Software Development (Java) experience is a plus. Ability to utilize Business Intelligence tools to represent insights and create reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
