Job Description As a valued colleague to our Public Relations team, you will contribute to designing and implementing all aspects of Fannie Mae's media and public relations policies, objectives, and initiatives.

Responsibilities

Draft and edit written communications, including press releases, media statements, social media posts, talking points, briefing memos, and other supporting materials for media outreach.

Develop media planning and strategy.

Prepare summaries of media coverage/activity for key stakeholders.

Establish relationships within Communications and Public Affairs and throughout the company to help provide colleagues effective solutions to business needs.

Manage media relations, announcements, editorial placement, and speaking opportunities.

Evaluate, vet, and authorize various forms of communication regarding Fannie Mae for release to the public and/or media.

Develop unique solutions and work to expand understanding of the organization's business, performance, and strategy.

Evaluate current processes and make recommendations for process changes, then work according to new guidelines or structure.

Work independently. Anticipate client needs and make recommendations for solutions.

The Experience You Bring To The Team Minimum Required Experiences

At least 2 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or consulting, with proven success engaging with media outlets and reporters.

Strong writing skills for news releases, talking points, and social media content.

Experience developing communications plans for media campaigns, initiatives, and executive platforms.

Ability to meet tight deadlines and respond quickly to media inquiries.

Demonstrated success in securing positive media coverage for corporate priorities.

Skilled in monitoring and analyzing media and social media coverage.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively across teams.

Strong project and stakeholder management abilities.

Independent thinker with sound judgment and decision-making skills.

Proficient in creating and editing content for clear and engaging communication.

Comfortable presenting ideas in a compelling and easy-to-understand manner.

Desired Experiences

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Degree in English, Journalism, and/or Communications is strongly preferred.

The hiring range for this role is set forth below. Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to, skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant qualifications. This position is eligible to participate in a Fannie Mae incentive program (subject to the terms of the program).
