Our client is looking for an Accounting Manager with 8 years of progressive accounting experience in either professional services or working for a law firm. Or would be open to a candidate that is ready to take that next step into management. $90,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr Position Summary — Accounting Manager
MANAGEMENT Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department\'s goals and objectives. Ensure that all transactions are recorded accurately and appropriately in the general ledger. Ensure billings are sent timely and accurately, and collections are pursued to optimize cash flow. Ensure that accounts payable are paid in an accurate and timely manner. Oversee client/matter intake and conflicts checks. Assist the department team as necessary. TRANSACTIONS Manage the firm\'s daily entry of deposits into the operating and trust bank accounts and accounting software. Handle client inquiries and credit card processing. Prepare daily cash reporting for the Controller. Review new client matter forms and update originating and supervising variable splits. Process write-offs in Aderant and maintain a summary of write-offs in Excel (Accounts Receivable). Position Summary — The Senior Accounting Specialist
A hands-on role that provides critical support to the Controller and contributes to the accuracy and integrity of the firm\'s financial operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial data, supporting month-end close, and contributing to process improvements. To be successful, the Senior Accounting Specialist must develop a working knowledge of all core functions within the department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, trust accounting, billing, and collections and be capable of stepping in to assist or provide coverage in any of these areas when needed. While not a management role, this is a senior-level position that supports departmental leadership and may evolve based on performance and organizational needs. Key Responsibilities Cross-Functional Departmental Support: actively cross-train in all major functions within the Accounting Department Accounts Payable (AP) - invoice coding, vendor setup, payment processing Accounts Receivable (AR) - cash application, client statements, aging reports Trust Accounting - reconciliation, compliance with trust rules and reporting Billing & Collections - billing guidelines, eBilling systems, billing audits Provide backup support during absences or peak periods Maintain a high-level understanding of departmental workflows to ensure continuity and coverage Seniorities
