Overview
As the
Avionics Electrical Engineering Manager , you will hire, manage, and mentor electrical engineers to develop custom circuit boards and other avionics devices. You will guide the technical direction of the avionics team, set high standards, and be a pillar of excellence in PCBA design. You will develop and improve the processes that Impulse uses to produce flight electronics. You will work directly with leaders and individual contributors in software, GNC, propulsion, structures, and other disciplines. You will have the opportunity to contribute to all aspects of spacecraft electronics development. Responsibilities
Hire and mentor electrical engineers Architect spacecraft electrical systems Lead the development of custom circuit boards Implement and improve effective processes for the team to ensure excellent outcomes Perform rigorous analyses and simulations of avionics devices and systems Establish and maintain high technical standards Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 5+ years professional experience designing custom circuit boards for spacecraft or other vehicles Professional experience managing and growing a team Proficiency with electronics component selection, circuit analysis, circuit simulation, schematics, layout, and bring-up testing for new products Experience getting circuit boards manufactured Experience with EEE piece parts concerns (sourcing, screening, etc) Experience troubleshooting electronics problems at the board level or system level Desire to improve team processes and train other team members Ability to communicate technical challenges, explain rationale and/or resolve concerns Skills and Experience
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Experience with Altium Designer Experience designing for space environments beyond LEO Experience with new development work for any of the following: optics, star trackers, cameras, motors, reaction wheels, batteries, harnessing, ethernet switches, FPGAs, antennas, or any other specialized area relevant to spacecraft or rockets Experience in a startup or agile development environment Additional Requirements

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan. To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, or otherwise eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
