Summary The ME/IE Manager is the “site technology leader” of Jabil’s manufacturing processes and systems, designed to deliver superior performance and operational efficiency. The ME/IE Manager supports Operation’s business development effort with current and potential customers, and development / implementation of both site and global ME/IE strategies. Responsible for the establishment of optimal manufacturing methods and processes for the organization’s production lines. Lead and motivate a large group of Engineers whose primary responsibility is to define and implement complete manufacturing processes. Provides ongoing review of the effective utilization of equipment, production methods, equipment layout, personnel, and material flow. Provide exceptional support to customers, team members, and shareholders.

Leadership and Management Responsibilities
Recruitment and Retention: Recruit, interview and hire Industrial Engineers, Process, Manufacturing and Project Engineers.
Communicate criteria to recruiters for Engineer candidates.
Coach staff in interviewing/hiring processes and monitor turnover to identify improvements.
Employee and Team Development: Identify strengths and development needs; create/validate training curricula; coach and mentor staff; manage succession plans.
Performance Management: Establish clear, measurable goals; solicit feedback; conduct timely evaluations; drive continuous improvement in key metrics; manage recognition fairly.
Communication: Provide forum for idea exchange; organize clear verbal and written communication; encourage input and adapt style as needed.
Functional Management Responsibilities
Business Strategy and Direction: Understand corporate, campus, and global PE, IE, and ME direction; define and implement related strategy; report progress to stakeholders; support global technical needs.
Cost Management: Identify ways to reduce cost; monitor departmental cost trends; provide cost feedback to peers.
Forecast Development and Accuracy: Prepare timely forecasts; compare to historical results; anticipate headcount needs.
Technical Management Responsibilities: Drive continuous improvement; assess data gathering methods; ensure efficient procedures; prepare quotes for customers; monitor technology trends and line moves; lead equipment evaluations; support Design for Manufacturability; share best practices across facilities; maintain compliance with policies and safety rules; drive Lean Manufacturing; protect sensitive information; provide customer service and support during launches.
Establish new measurement systems where possible; explore new processes to support customer requirements; collaborate with Advanced Engineering; encourage new ideas for improvements.
Minimum Requirements Extensive knowledge of Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering philosophies and processes. Proven track record in communication, leadership, business analysis, process development, administration, and change management. Bachelor’s degree preferred with 3-5 years of related experience in the electronics manufacturing industry; 2-3 years of supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
