Overview
Strategic Sourcing Manager - Vice President role at SMBC Group. The candidate will own a portfolio of vendors in a defined category, partner with business stakeholders to define vendor requirements and outsourcing strategy, and manage the onboarding lifecycle to ensure speedy and accurate processing while monitoring spend and supplier delivery to meet budgets and cost-reduction targets. Responsibilities
Own a portfolio of vendors in a defined category. Partner with business stakeholders to define vendor requirements and outsourcing strategy. Engage with vendors through onboarding lifecycle, including RFAs/RFPs, risk assessment, supplier selection, contract negotiation and accounts payable activation. Advise vendors and business stakeholders on procurement standards to ensure speedy and accurate processing. Continuously monitor and optimize spend profile of the vendor category to meet business budgets and cost reduction targets where applicable. Track supplier delivery against key performance indicators and use performance data to create a list of preferred suppliers; guide new business users accordingly. Collaborate with vendor managers and adjacent functions (legal, risk management, HR, compliance, accounts payable) to execute robust vendor assessments and issue escalation when necessary. Interpersonal / Stakeholder & Expertise
Maintain strong partnerships with business stakeholders and act as advisor on third-party vendor strategy and decision-making. Align with vendor managers to promote holistic supplier coverage and uphold central standards. Build relationships with management teams of covered vendors to understand service models and delivery channels, and negotiate favorable contracts and renewals. Participate in industry roundtables and forums to stay current on sourcing developments. Collaborate with related functions to ensure robust vendor assessments and issue escalation. Demonstrate deep understanding of purchasing, negotiation and maintenance of supplier contracts; educate stakeholders on vendor capabilities as appropriate. Stay current on supplier landscape to inform RFAs/RFPs and vendor negotiations; leverage networks to drive delivery against business requirements. Qualifications
