20-50% Position Summary

We are seeking highly experienced and knowledgeable Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Electrical Balance of System (EBOS) components installed in utility-scale and commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) projects. The ideal candidate will provide deep technical expertise in the design, engineering, and implementation of EBOS components, ensuring system performance, safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Responsibilities

Serve as the technical authority for EBOS components including DC cabling / Harness, AC wiring, Combiner Boxes, Load Breaker Disconnects, Transformers, protection systems, grounding, and communication systems. Lead and review EBOS designs for utility-scale solar PV systems. Provide technical input during project planning, procurement, and construction phases. Ensure EBOS components and designs comply with relevant codes (NEC, IEC, UL), safety standards, and utility requirements. Support equipment selection, and vendor evaluation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, procurement, project managers, and construction teams. Provide troubleshooting support and root cause analysis for EBOS-related field issues. Mentor and train junior engineers and staff on EBOS best practices. Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Minimum 8–10 years of experience in solar PV systems, with a focus on EBOS design and implementation. Proven expertise in utility-scale PV projects. Deep knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, IEEE). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Professional Engineer (PE) license. NABCEP certification is a plus. Familiarity with power system modeling tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, or similar) is a plus.
