Overview
Head of Violence Reduction Unit, SOUTH YORKSHIRE MAYORAL COMBINED AUTHORITY. Lead a high-impact, multi-agency programme addressing violence prevention and reduction across South Yorkshire. Work with the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and partners to develop a public health model that centers communities and evidence-based decision making. Principal Accountabilities
Deliver the Mayor and Deputy Mayor’s objectives around violence reduction and develop an operating model for the South Yorkshire VRU that maximises collaboration and place-based working. Engage with communities to understand drivers of violence, vulnerability and exploitation and formulate prevention and reduction strategies with sustained outcomes. Lead the VRU Team to design, develop and implement a multi-year strategy for prevention and violence reduction across South Yorkshire. Manage funds and commissioning of services to prevent violence, with evaluation and reporting to local and national bodies. Develop policy advice and guidance based on the latest evidence, shaping or adopting wider local, national and international trends as appropriate. Maintain and influence a network of internal and external stakeholders, aligning with wider community safety work across the county. What We're Looking For

Knowledgeable in public health approaches to violence reduction and emerging best practice. Experienced in community engagement and strategic planning. Capable of managing budgets, commissioning services, and producing policy advice. Strong communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across sectors.
