At Northrop Grumman, we are seeking a Principal Cyber Network Systems Engineer or Senior Principal Cyber Network Systems Engineer to be located onsite in Annapolis, MD. Other locations may be considered: Melbourne, FL; Huntsville, AL; Sunnyvale, CA; Ocean Springs, MS. Relocation assistance may be available. Travel: 10% of the time. Clearance type: Secret. This position is 100% onsite in Annapolis, MD. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement secure systems to protect our organization from cyber threats. The role requires profound knowledge of cybersecurity principles, experience in system architecture, and the ability to analyze complex systems for potential vulnerabilities. Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement cyber security solutions to safeguard the organization\'s systems and data. Apply Zero Trust and/or Multi-Level Security (MLS) principles to network designs. Conduct security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate cyber threats. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into all systems and applications. Stay up to date on the latest cyber security trends and technologies to proactively mitigate risks. Define network architecture based on organizational needs, including LANs, WANs, and other data communication networks. Derive, decompose, and flow down cybersecurity requirements across software, hardware, and network components. Conduct threat modeling, attack surface analysis, and vulnerability assessments focused on network interfaces, protocols, and services. Configure, install, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices. Regularly maintain network hardware, software, and configurations to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Diagnose and resolve network issues, including hardware, software, and connectivity problems. Provide expert guidance and training to junior team members and other departments on cyber security best practices. Able to work independently without supervision and meet quick deployment deadlines ensuring the solutions meet customer product requirements. Occasional local and domestic travel for program-related meetings with external contractors/offices. This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Cyber Network Systems Engineer or Senior Principal Cyber Network Systems Engineer level. Basic Qualifications – Principal Cyber Network Systems Engineer

Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience, a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with 1 year of experience; or 9+ years of real-world software engineering and cyber experience in lieu of a college degree. U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Current DoD 8140 (DoD 8570) certification for IAT Level II or higher prior to start date (e.g., Security+ CE). Experience with switching and routing. Experience in CMMC certifications and NIST 800-171 compliance. Experience with vulnerability remediation. Proficiency with the Data Collection and Indexing tool Splunk. Basic Qualifications – Senior Principal Cyber Network Systems Engineer

Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related experience, a Master’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a PhD with 4 years of experience; or 12+ years of real-world software engineering and cyber experience in lieu of a college degree. U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Current DoD 8140 (DoD 8570) certification for IAT Level II or higher prior to start date (e.g., Security+ CE). Experience with switching and routing. Experience in CMMC certifications and NIST 800-171 compliance. Experience with vulnerability remediation. Proficiency with the Data Collection and Indexing tool Splunk. Preferred Qualifications For Both Levels

Knowledge of NIST 800-160. Understanding of the Systems Engineering V Model. Active Top Secret security clearance at the time of application. Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) System Security Engineering activities. Knowledge of RMF, STIG, and requirements development from control listings. Proficiency in network security protocols, software development, and system architecture design. Experience with cloud computing platforms such as OpenStack. Familiarity with Linux and Microsoft computing systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience executing vulnerability scans and developing security documentation (ISSPs and POA&Ms). Experience with anti-malware and intrusion prevention software. Experience in Agile development methodologies. Ability to provide detailed instructions, demonstrations, and training to individuals and groups.
