Posting Summary Rutgers The State University is seeking a Program Director in the Community Based Services of Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. The primary purpose of the Program Director position is to provide administrative and clinical direction and oversight to assigned programs, ensuring program integrity and fiscal viability, ongoing development, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Duties include:
Provide administrative and clinical direction for the program; direct its administrative and clinical organization; manage day-to-day operations, including administration of grants and revenue sources; delegate responsibilities appropriately.
Direct oversight and coordination of all research initiatives.
Develop a comprehensive range of services based on consumer referrals and program capacity.
Ensure staff meet quality and quantity of work standards; promote a safe, functional, and supportive environment.
Supervise staff as assigned by the Director; plan, train, and supervise others; ensure compliance with state, university, and discipline standards; attend unit visits and staff meetings.
Demonstrate leadership in professional standards and practices; stay informed of trends and developments in mental health; participate in designated training to maintain best practices.
Responsibilities
Lead the program’s clinical and administrative operations, including day-to-day management and fiscal stewardship.
Coordinate research initiatives and expand services to meet referrals and service capacity.
Maintain staff performance standards and foster a safe, productive work environment.
Provide supervision and professional development for assigned staff and ensure compliance with all applicable standards.
Represent UBHC in leadership roles and uphold professional standards in mental health and rehabilitative services.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of a Master’s Degree in a behavioral health discipline with seven (7) years of postgraduate experience in a relevant behavioral healthcare setting; two (2) years of supervisory experience required.
An appropriate doctorate may substitute for two (2) years of experience. If the degree is in Social Work, active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work is required.
Must possess a license to practice independently in New Jersey (e.g., LCSW, LPC, Psychology license, etc.).
Strong leadership and human relations skills; ability to work in a team; experience in a unionized environment.
Valid driver’s license. Availability for occasional evenings/weekends and on-call duties in a 24/7 environment. Must have own vehicle or reliable transportation for outreach and meetings.
