We are looking for a Field Service Engineer for our Electrification Automation (EA) Business Unit headquartered in Wendell, NC. This position will be based in Portland, OR. The EA Business Unit has a diverse portfolio of products including photovoltaic inverters, medium-voltage power distribution equipment including packaging and services, and solutions, including automation. Responsibilities Experience with power distribution system equipment low and medium (480V-38kV). Extensive experience in protection and control in an industrial and/or utilities-focused environment. Develop test plans for complex relay systems and test/troubleshoot those systems. Experience with relays from various manufacturers including but not limited to SEL, Siemens SIPROTEC, and GE Multilin is a plus. Develop switching procedures, Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and advise on electrical safety matters related to scheduled and unscheduled work. Installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up of LV and MV equipment. May include troubleshooting, maintenance, training, and consulting. Flexibility on location depending on travel amount. Hands-on field, travel up to 80%national depending on site locations. Support Greenfield and Brownfield unit installations and commissioning activities throughout Siemens / USA. This position may be hired at a lower level than posted if the candidate's experience warrants.

Youll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications High School or GED minimum 10+ years of experience with power distribution systems and low and medium voltage switchgear, including protection and automation commissioning and troubleshooting with relays such as SEL, Siemens SIPROTEC, and GE Multilin 10+ years of experience in troubleshooting & repair of electrical control circuits, including breakers or high voltage equipment testing, and analyzing test results and equipment condition Must be available to respond for emergency and relief assignments Must be familiar with OSHA safety practices and perform duties within specified guidelines to ensure safety of self and supporting crew Position must be based remotely within the Portland, Oregon area to support EAs business partners Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% Valid drivers license in good standing and be at least 21 years of age to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan Applicants must be legally authorized for employment within the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering 10+ years field service experience commissioning and troubleshooting Experience with protection and control relays Experience with project management software Experience with High Voltage Circuit breakers Knowledge and/or experience with SF6 Gas circuit breakers MSHA 46/48, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E TWIC card NETA / NICET

The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
