Overview

The mission of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public. The Vice President of Supply Chain provides leadership, operational and strategic oversight to the MD Anderson Cancer Center supply chain function, which includes ensuring supplies and materials are procured and distributed to all MD Anderson locations across the Greater Houston Area. By fostering the relationship with The University of Texas System Group Purchasing Organization, the Vice President will maximize value, efficiency and effectiveness for all sourcing functions. The Vice President serves as the foremost authority on all supply flow including sourcing, logistics, contracting, receiving and inventory management. The role envisions, articulates, and develops a clear, modern, and effective integrated end-to-end supply chain that meets patient expectations while keeping operational costs within budgets and guidelines. MD Anderson seeks a servant leader with strong leadership skills and the strategic perspective to lead Supply Chain Management and be an effective business partner with executive and faculty leadership. The organization is committed to the highest standard of customer service principles for patients, visitors and staff. The Vice President will model exemplary behaviors in interactions with patients, visitors and staff. Reporting Relationships Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President of Supply Chain also maintains a strong working relationship with the Chief Operating Officer.
