Senior Manager, Data Science - Model Audit. Data is at the center of everything we do. As a Data Scientist at Capital One, you will be part of a team that leverages computing and machine learning to operate across billions of customer records and uncover opportunities that help people save money and time. Team Description: You will join Capital One’s Model Audit team, reviewing models and model risk practices across the enterprise, raising model risk issues, and providing assurance to the Audit Committee. You will partner cross-functionally with business units to deliver analytical solutions in a dynamic environment. Apply deep expertise in econometric, statistical and machine learning methods to generate critical insights and decision frameworks for our business and customers. Communicate technical subject matter clearly to individuals from various backgrounds. Partner with the lines of business to enhance modeling and analytical framework. Work across Capital One entities to create novel analytical solutions to challenging business problems. Identify opportunities to apply quantitative methods, machine learning, and automation to improve business performance and process efficiencies. Collaborate in a cross-disciplinary team to build cloud-based solutions grounded in data.

Basic Qualifications
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with the expectation that the degree will be obtained by the start date:
one of the following A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field) plus 7 years of experience performing data analytics A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration plus 5 years of experience performing data analytics A PhD in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field) plus 2 years of experience performing data analytics At least 2 years of experience leveraging open source programming languages for large-scale data analysis At least 2 years of experience working with machine learning At least 2 years of experience utilizing relational databases
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in STEM field plus 4 years of experience in data analytics At least 1 year of experience working with AWS At least 1 year of experience managing people At least 5 years’ experience in Python, Scala, or R for large-scale data analysis At least 5 years’ experience with machine learning At least 1 year of experience with advanced machine learning technologies including language models, LLMs and/or Generative AI technologies

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on hours worked. Locations include Sales Territory, Plano, TX; McLean, VA; Richmond, VA; New York, NY, with respective salary ranges as listed in the posting.
This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives. Capital One offers a comprehensive benefits package. Eligibility varies by status and level.
