Overview
Youth Program Director at Greater Green Bay YMCA. The role reports to the Branch Executive and is responsible for developing and delivering impactful and innovative programming to serve kids ages 6 weeks to 14+ years and their families, supporting their physical, social and emotional development. The position provides overall leadership to the Youth Program Coordinator, Program Staff and Child Watch team members at assigned center(s) and supports the Association’s strategic and operational goals in membership, program delivery and community engagement. Employment Status
Full-time (35+ hours per week, eligible for the Y\'s full benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and retirement). Essential Functions
Develop and implement ongoing youth and family programming via classes, special events, out of school time activities, family engagement opportunities and value added programs. Arrange for community outreach for program development and collaboration. May include schools, community organizations, local vendors/services, etc. Hire, onboard, train, develop, engage and retain Program Staff, Program Instructors, and volunteers. Support the Youth Program Coordinator in their work delivering quality Gymnastics, Dance and Youth Specialty programs. Develop, monitor and control the program budgets associated with assigned centers and departments. Consistently meet program and financial goals and implement formal processes to ensure high quality and accurate measures. Cultivate relationships and lead a team to support and participate in the annual giving campaign. Support fundraising initiatives. Serve as cause driven leader on duty on a coverage rotation, ensuring the security, safety, cleanliness of building as well as supporting staff and members in all areas of the building. In the event of an emergency you will serve as a first responder; responding, reporting, and preventing. Act according to facility protocol to ensure safety of all staff, children and volunteers which includes: Follow employees and volunteers screening requirements and use screening tools to screen for abuse risk. Provide employees and volunteers with on-going supervision and training related to abuse risk. Provide employees and volunteers with regular feedback regarding their boundaries with children. Require employees and volunteers to adhere to policies and procedures related to abuse risk. Respond quickly to policy and procedure violations using the organization’s progressive disciplinary procedures. Respond seriously and confidentially to reports of suspicious and inappropriate behaviors. Follow mandated reporting requirements. Communicate to all employees and volunteers the organization’s commitment to protect children from abuse. Report essential abuse risk management information to VP, Chief People Officer & Risk Management Officer. Skills And Training
Bachelor’s degree in related field with at least 2 years related experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires experience and practical knowledge of youth programming with gymnastics, dance or youth sports experience preferred. Skills in volunteer development, staff leadership, public relations, program administration, budgeting, income production, and expense control are required. Participation in Listen First and cause-driven tour training is required within the first nine months. CPR and First Aid certifications are required within the first 60 days of employment. Ability to prioritize workloads to meet timelines and program goals and outcomes. Excellent telephone, face to face, and written communication skills tailored to the appropriate audience. Strong administrative, organizational and computer skills with attention to details required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
For the most part, the work is done in an office environment. As a safety responder, the ability to crouch, stoop, kneel, move quickly, and/or lift at least 30 pounds will be necessary. Requires the ability to work varied schedules to meet the varied needs of programming, youth, and families. COMPETENCIES
