The George Washington University Hospital (GW Hospital) continues to be a leader in providing the highest level of quality and compassionate healthcare for the D.C. Region. U.S. News & World Report released the 2023-2024 ratings and rankings, recognizing GW Hospital as a Best Regional Hospital. In addition, the hospital is a Level I Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The mission is to provide the highest quality of healthcare, advanced medical technology, and world-class service to patients in an academic medical center dedicated to education and research. Summary: Assist in the implementation of Hospital Quality Assurance, Management and Improvement by collecting, reporting, and analyzing data; identifying and addressing opportunities for improvement; coordinating activities, and supporting the development and implementation of medical staff and hospital service performance improvement initiatives. Assist in achieving compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency standards. Qualifications
Bachelor\'s Degree Required. BSN preferred Minimum two years experience in hospital surgery department, surgery clinic, clinical research or medical records. Clinical chart review and abstraction experience required. Successful completion of applicable required certification and training programs to include, but not limited to, ACS BQIP SCR training/certification within 6 months of hire. 5 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting Experience with databases, data entry and/or database management preferred Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Effective interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities Knowledge of licensure regulations, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization and state/federal standards Knowledge of Performance Improvement methodology and Outcomes Management Statistical analysis skills; Demonstrated problem solving, data assembly and action planning ability leading to the development of actions plans that will prove helpful in achieving measurable objectives Ability to organize, formulate, educate and facilitate problem solving teams Demonstrative ability to work without supervision towards a desired outcome Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, Ms Word, Database management Ability to interact with all members of the surgical team and administrative staff in a professional and courteous manner About Universal Health Services
