Senior Municipal Client Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income

— Northern Trust Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) is seeking a Senior Municipal Client Portfolio Manager (CPM) to support our Global Fixed Income Team. The CPM role is designed to leverage the portfolio management resources of the firm while serving as the primary portfolio management contact for clients and internal partners. Through external engagements, the CPM plays a critical role in client retention and growth of the business driven by expanding current relationships and new business development. The CPM represents and advocates for our Fixed Income strategies to clients and internal partners by explaining investment philosophy, platform, process, and performance. CPMs also help frame investment capabilities, contribute to thought leadership and innovation, and represent the “voice of the client”. Embedded within the Fixed Income investment team, CPMs are the primary investment contact for internal partners and serve as a proxy for portfolio managers with clients. They also play an important role in new business efforts, including education of and partnership with distribution partners throughout the sales and retention cycle. Principal Responsibilities

Maintain a high level of client engagement. First point of contact for internal sales and service partners. Respond to internal partner and client inquiries. Maintain real time portfolio/strategy knowledge of assigned NTAM capabilities. Stay abreast of markets and trends impacting NTAM capabilities and clients across segments including client objectives, flows, and competitor insights. Maintain robust product knowledge of NTAM capabilities and the peer universe. Proactively share positioning with internal partners. Own content supporting RFPs, pitchbooks, etc. and coordinate with key partners including RFP, Marketing, Product, Distribution, Sustainable Investing, and Investment Teams to ensure high quality and timely delivery of collateral. Curate content and organize resources availability. Develop and promote thought leadership in support of the business. Support innovation through continued feedback from the market. Desired Qualifications and Attributes

Bachelor’s degree required Relevant post-graduate work or progress toward is preferred (such as MBA or CFA). Extensive experience in Municipal bonds, fixed income portfolio management, and client engagement. Ability to think strategically, collaborate productively, and problem-solve effectively. Familiarity with modern portfolio management technics and technology. Experience developing and contributing to the development of high-quality content such as presentations, research papers, market commentary, RFPs, marketing collateral, and value-added responses to client inquiries. Salary

$137,400 - 233,600 USD Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
