Overview
The Accounting Director will serve as the senior leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s accounting function. This individual will drive the integrity of financial reporting, ensure adherence to accounting standards, and provide forward-looking insights through cash management and forecasting. Acting as a trusted partner to executive leadership, this role will lead a team across general accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable while also interacting regularly with external advisors and investors. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, proven leadership in private equity-backed businesses, and a proactive, hands-on approach to building efficient, scalable processes. Core Areas of Responsibility
Financial Reporting & Analysis Deliver accurate consolidated financial results on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Ensure reporting complies with U.S. GAAP as well as investor and lender requirements. Provide recurring and ad hoc reporting packages, performance metrics, and analytical insights for ownership and leadership teams. Partner with the CFO on board materials, audits, and key strategic projects. Cash Management & Forecasting Lead short-term and long-term cash flow forecasting, including weekly variance reviews. Monitor liquidity needs, optimize working capital, and guide collection activities. Support debt covenant compliance and financial reporting for lenders and equity sponsors. Accounting Operations & Close Process Oversee the monthly close cycle to ensure timely, complete, and accurate results. Maintain and refine internal controls, policies, and the chart of accounts. Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, payroll, and commission payouts. Audit, Tax, & Compliance Act as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors. Ensure the company meets all federal, state, and local compliance obligations. Stay current with evolving accounting standards and assess their impact on reporting. Leadership & Organizational Impact Lead, mentor, and develop accounting, AP, and AR staff across business units. Standardize and enhance processes for greater efficiency and accuracy. Serve as a cross-functional partner, working with leaders across the company to resolve issues and support broader initiatives. Key Competencies Technical Expertise:

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA strongly preferred. 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Prior exposure to private equity-backed or high-growth companies required. Experience managing multiple entities or divisions. Strong background in consolidations, intercompany activity, and cash forecasting. ERP experience (NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or equivalent).
