Motor Fuels Tax Senior Manager

Weaver is looking for a Motor Fuels Tax Senior Manager to join our growing team. Senior Managers in this area lead motor fuel tax planning and controversy projects, including audits, appeals, and litigation proceedings. Primary responsibilities include overseeing the planning and management of multiple client engagements, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and staying abreast of emerging tax issues and legislation. A Weaver Tax Senior Manager works closely with firm leadership and plays a key role in business development and team development. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience with the technical knowledge necessary to supervise staff and managers in a wide variety of industries. Responsibilities

Oversee the planning and management of multiple client engagements related to motor fuels tax planning and controversy projects, including audits, appeals, and litigation proceedings. Build and maintain strong client relationships and stay current on emerging tax issues and legislation. Collaborate with firm leadership, contribute to business development, and support team development. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field CPA, EA, or licensed attorney 10+ years of experience in federal and state fuel taxes Experience with federal and multi-state excise tax returns Experience with a variety of industries and all aspects of federal and state fuel and excise tax laws Preferred qualifications

Master's degree in Accounting or related field Extensive tax experience in both public accounting and industry Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop staff Excellent written and oral communications skills Demonstration of independent thinking and strong decision-making skills Team orientation and strong interpersonal skills Strong relationship management and practice development skills Ability to attract and service new clients and expand services to existing clients Benefits and Learning
