Overview

Senior Electrical Engineer – Nationwide location. Government Services Division. POWER Engineers, member of WSP, is seeking a senior level electrical engineer to work on engineering design projects in the Government market, including mission-critical infrastructure design for power delivery, power generation, power distribution, backup power, UPS, system studies, renewable energy, MEP design, and related projects. The candidate will demonstrate strong team leadership, mentoring, excellent communication and presentation skills, motivation, a positive attitude, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. The successful applicant will contribute to developing a sustainable electrical department and will interface directly with internal and external clients to drive projects to successful completion within budget and schedule constraints. Responsibilities

Create and issue construction drawings and specifications, studies, and reports. Demonstrate broad working design knowledge of grounding, lightning protection, surge protection, lighting, protective relaying, prime and standby generation, low and medium voltage switchgear, medium voltage substations, and UPS systems. Apply NEC, NFPA standards, ICC standards, UFC documents, energy codes, and applicable IEEE standards. Model electrical systems and run power system studies using ETAP, PTW, or EasyPower (strongly preferred). Lead and coordinate electrical efforts on projects, interacting with other discipline leads, project managers, and teams to ensure successful outcomes. Mentor junior or mid-level electrical engineers and designers; develop training and mentoring materials supporting knowledge management. Propose, design, perform engineering calculations, estimate costs, conduct client reviews, and provide construction support. Manage project scope, schedule, and budget while adapting to change and meeting deadlines. Travel domestically and internationally as required and work in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. Professional Engineering License with the ability to be licensed in multiple states. Knowledge and experience with federal government projects. Direct application of UFC, UFGS, NEC, and ICC standards required. Fifteen or more (15+) years of applicable experience in the design and specification of low and medium-voltage power distribution and lighting systems for federal and industrial buildings and site distribution. Specific knowledge of switchgear and substation design. Ability to self-perform all electrical engineering tasks: proposal, design, calculations, cost estimating, client reviews, and construction support. Ability to collaborate with other discipline leads, PMs, and teams to manage and run electrical efforts for projects while coordinating with other disciplines. Experience mentoring and leading electrical engineers and designers; ability to act as electrical or project lead. Willingness to develop training materials and support knowledge management initiatives. Strong prioritization, deadline management, and adaptability to change. Proven ability to manage project scope, schedule, and budget; excellent oral and written communication skills. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; US citizenship required. Desired Education/Experience

Experience designing to NAVFAC and USACE design standards. SpecsIntact specification authoring and editing experience. Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance. Experience with mission-critical infrastructure projects. Solid foundation in CAD/BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation). Compensation and Benefits

POWER Engineers offers a competitive compensation package and full benefits, including Medical/Dental/Vision, Paid Holidays, Vacation/Paid Sick Leave, Voluntary Life Insurance, 401K, Telehealth, Maternity/Paternity Leave, New Dads and Moms Benefit, Fertility Benefits, and Gender-affirming care. Base Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year. The position's salary range complies with state/local regulations and reflects factors such as qualifications, experience, and education. The range does not include additional compensation such as bonuses, health benefits, vacation, or 401(k) match.
