PTS Automation is seeking a talented and experienced Controls Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement control systems for a variety of automation projects across multiple industries. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored, high-performance solutions that meet and exceed client expectations. This position requires a creative thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate is self-driven and comfortable working independently while supporting both internal teams and customers. Responsibilities
Program, and implement control systems using PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, VFDs, vision systems, and mobile robots (both traditional and autonomous). Perform system integration, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure high performance and reliability. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers for seamless system integration. Provide field engineering support for system retrofits and upgrades. Support project teams and customers during design reviews, installations, commissioning, and maintenance. Travel to customer sites for system start-up and troubleshooting support. Travel requirement: 50–60% overnight and local travel. Stay current on emerging technologies and advancements in control engineering. Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field. Proven experience designing and programming control systems using PLCs and HMIs (Omron, Rockwell, and Mitsubishi platforms preferred). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects with minimal supervision. Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills. Prior experience in automation or manufacturing is preferred. Benefits
