Responsibilities
Design and implement advanced power network applications for real-time control and analysis
Collaborate with customers to understand needs and deliver tailored, high-performance solutions
Support software releases and troubleshoot complex issues with expert-level insight
Contribute to continuous improvement in engineering practices and documentation
Stay ahead of the curve with ongoing research in power systems, optimization, and market operations
Represent Hitachi Energy in customer meetings, industry events, and technical discussions
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in power network applications and control, or Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience
Strong programming skills in C or FORTRAN and experience with Linux-based systems
Solid understanding of power systems modeling, power flow, contingency analysis, and optimization techniques
Experience developing software for electric utilities or electricity markets
Formal education in power systems optimization and data structures/databases
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a focus on deregulated electricity markets is a plus
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
