Overview
Principal Scientist, Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics The DMPK department at Genentech supports small molecule discovery and development by elucidating absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and pharmacokinetic properties. The group applies bioanalysis, drug metabolism, drug transport and pharmacokinetics to enable discovery, development and commercialization of safe and effective medicines, collaborating with medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacology and regulatory teams to optimize leads, select clinical candidates, conduct preclinical development studies, support clinical evaluation and contribute to IND and NDA filings. The successful candidate will lead the DMPK strategy, design and execute non-clinical studies in a highly collaborative project team environment.
Responsibilities
Represent DMPK at multi-functional discovery and development project teams
Lead DMPK strategy as it relates to regulatory setting/interactions; author reports/sections for regulatory briefing packages/filings
Who You Are
PhD degree in pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism or other relevant fields
2 years of pharmaceutical industry experience as a DMPK project leader
Proven scientific expertise in supporting discovery and/or development projects
Good communication, collaborative and organizational skills; ability to work in multifunctional teams
Preferred
Experience as a member/leader of multi-functional project teams supporting diverse modalities (small/large molecules, peptides, etc.) and modeling skills
Compensation and Benefits Relocation benefits are available. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $143,200 to $265,900. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
