Overview
Loss Prevention Director role at Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa, Lake Arrowhead, CA. Basic Function: The Loss Prevention Director is passionate about safety and security. Responsible for the overall development, implementation and management of the department and officers, policies, protocols, and measures designed to safeguard the Company’s assets, guests, employees, and information. This position entails a strategic approach to risk management, ensuring security practices align with the broader objectives of the organization and property. The Loss Prevention Director will coordinate with various departments to address security concerns / issues. This position will respond to immediate security concerns, plan and educate to prevent future risks. Location : Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa, Lake Arrowhead, CA. The resort offers access to outdoor activities and a range of on-site facilities.
Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies and policies to protect the organization’s assets.
Oversee recruitment, training, and supervision of the loss prevention team to meet security needs.
Train and supervise department to maintain a high level of professionalism, proficiency, and protocols.
Coordinate with external law enforcement and emergency responders to develop joint response strategies and train internal staff in these measures.
Manage the security department budget, including procurement of security technologies and services.
Conduct risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
Design and oversee access control systems to regulate entry to areas of the premises.
Lead fire, life, and safety, crime prevention programs, crisis management planning and response, including evacuation plans and drills.
Monitor security systems (cameras and alarms) and respond to breaches.
Evaluate and integrate new security technologies to enhance security posture and efficiency.
Perform security process evaluations and inspections.
Create, maintain, train and evaluate standard operating procedures.
Provide security guidance to management, staff, and guests to promote safety and awareness.
Investigate security incidents and ensure appropriate follow-up and documentation.
Review daily activity reports for accuracy and maintain records on property electronic system.
Implement and maintain measures to protect confidential or sensitive information.
Report major incidents to General Manager and provide shift coordination support as needed.
Coach and mentor Loss Prevention staff; create staff schedules and manage attendance.
Provide coverage for shifts as needed and support on-call duties.
Review timekeeping and assist with payroll preparation for Loss Prevention hours.
Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent; University/College degree in a related discipline preferred. Previous law enforcement and/or security/loss prevention experience required.
3+ years of management and leadership experience, preferably in hospitality or related field.
ASSA ABLOY access control knowledge preferred.
CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required.
Ability to monitor surveillance systems and respond to emergencies.
Certified Protection Professional, Physical Security Professional, and/or Certified Information Systems Security Professional, or other state licensing required, or ability to obtain.
Experience with general liability and workers’ compensation processes, investigations, claims filings, and laws.
Experience in crisis management, risk assessment, team building and leadership skills.
Attention to detail, de-escalation skills, strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
Experience developing and implementing security protocols and leading a security team; liaison with law enforcement.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively; maintain confidentiality; guest relations mindset.
Ability to facilitate training and continuing education for Security team and resort staff.
Compensation
The compensation for this position is
$70,000.00/Yr. - $90,000.00/Yr.
based on qualifications and experience.
