Seattle Children's . The Nigam Lab at the Center for Developmental Biology and Regenerative Medicine invites applications for a Research Scientist III position. The lab uses basic science and translational approaches to improve the care of children born with severe cardiac defects and to protect the brains of sick pediatric patients. The project focuses on elucidating and finding novel treatments for systemic inflammation after exposure to cardiopulmonary bypass and on protecting the brains of patients who experience shock. Responsibilities

Perform laboratory procedures as part of ongoing research studies. Assist in planning research experiments, their execution, and data analysis. Assist others in the laboratory with problem-solving and understanding molecular biology. Help maintain a constructive laboratory environment. Work closely with a post‑doc and graduate/undergraduate students to plan and supervise several parallel lines of investigation. Collaborate with team members to contribute to high-quality research outputs and publications where applicable. Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: PhD in an applicable science field/related field OR Master’s degree in an applicable science field/related field plus minimum three (3) years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree or higher in an applicable science field/related field plus minimum five (5) years of related experience with a robust publication record. Preferred: PhD in a relevant specialty area or closely related field. Substantial prior experience in the relevant area of research. Compensation

Salary Range:

$78,735.00 - $118,103.00 per year Salary information notes: Compensation is based on full-time employment (2080 hours per calendar year) and may vary within the range based on equity, skills, experience, and expertise. Benefits
