Sr. Project Engineer (PE) - R0095805

Astemo Ltd. This position is part of the xEV Regional PE group for Electric Vehicle products and will be responsible for activity and support for Inverter programs. The purpose is to support activities to establish equipment, processes, and quotations for programs related to Inverter products. The overall requirement is to ensure that production equipment runs to equipment specifications and produces products based on product specifications and customer requirements, including ensuring that equipment is verified and qualified for mass production utilization. The specific area of expertise is leading INV start-up projects and coordinating personnel. Essential Functions Responsibilities Ensure equipment specifications to produce products and align with regional requirements. Confirm that equipment is installed and meets required specification. Ensure that equipment is safe to utilize for all associates. Confirm that all product requirements are met through online testing, including verification (daily and validation). Assist other departments in setting up testing trials/experiments for customer/internal troubles, including countermeasure activity as needed. Responsible for managing small groups and individuals.
Minimum Qualifications
4-year University Degree in related field or equivalent experience and education. Candidates must have work authorization to work in the United States. Engineering skills including knowledge of control systems, robotics, mechanics, pneumatics, optical inspection and computer programming. Ability to make quick, accurate, data-driven decisions and utilize excellent problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Computer literacy with both personal computers and manufacturing systems. Willingness to support the corporate culture with an absolute focus on ethics and fairness. Able to lead a team of people.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in automotive industry, with emphasis in electro/mechanical devices. 4-year University Degree in Engineering or related field and 10 years of related work experience. Knowledge of EV components such as inverters and motors. Knowledge of APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, etc. Experience in electronics manufacturing. Well organized, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills to present information to all levels of associates, management and customers. Ability to lead projects with cross-departmental support. Able to prepare schedules, budgets, and reports.
Physical and/or Mental Restrictions
Ability to work a flexible schedule including all shifts and days as needed. Ability to work for long periods while sitting; standing, walking, and bending during the day. Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen. Ability to travel for business (domestic and overseas).
Software
Intermediate experience in Windows, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Project Management Software preferred (MS Project). Experience in CAD software (AutoCAD or equivalent).
