Rafael Lumber, Marin County's most complete building supply company, is looking for an upbeat and knowledgeable Construction Sales Representative professional to join our team in San Rafael. If you know lumber and building products and enjoy helping contractors get what they need-accurately and efficiently-this is the opportunity for you. You'll be the go-to person behind the counter and over the phone, managing quotes, orders, and relationships in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist walk-in and call-in customers with quotes, product knowledge, and purchase support.
  • Process sales transactions, including stock and special orders.
  • Source and quote non-stock items from vendors to meet customer needs.
  • Schedule and coordinate deliveries to contractor job sites.
  • Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with current customers while building new business.
  • Manage pricing, product availability, and delivery timelines with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Handle returns, resolve issues, and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Keep sales and customer records organized using internal systems and basic software tools.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in contractor sales or building materials industry.
  • Strong product knowledge of lumber and general building supplies.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven customer service skills with a sales-driven approach.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Basic computer proficiency (email, order entry, inventory systems).
  • High School diploma or GED required.
